2016 was such a challenging year! An early killer frost in October stopped our Cab Franc early and then a wet harvest season made our 2016 lighter on flavor and alcohol. that being said it still has aromas of Cassis and tastes slightly smokey and spicy, just lighter than we usually make. We did not add Syrah to this vintage but did continue with the addition of Merlot.
